biological control program
The TNRD has partnered with the Southern Interior Weed Management Committee to offer landowners biological control insects for select weed species.

Insects are seasonally available for the following invasive plants:
Dalmatian toadflax, Spotted knapweed, Diffuse knapweed and Leafy spurge.

A limited number of insects may also be available for Hound’s-tongue and Thistles.

These insects are ideal for long-term management of large infestations, infestations near water or wells, on steep slopes or gravelly soil conditions.

There is no cost to the landowner bio-control program as it is 100% funded by the TNRD.
Contact the Southern Interior Weed Management Committee to request biological control agents.
